sede anni trentaThe school Liceo Scientifico "G.Galilei" opened in 1923 as a private institution run by the local Townhall and, starting from the school year 1925, became a State school by King Vittorio Emanuele III's decree Professor Ulisse Morelli, its first Principal, was in charge until 1952. At first the school, located at 4, Mattioli Street, consisted of four class groups with 50 pupils altogether, whom the institution meant to prepare for further studies in the faculties of Science, Medicine and Surgery. A special emphasis was actually put on scientific culture and the school saw the number of its students rapidly increase so that new premises were soon necessary. The palace of " Dame di Sion" was the seat of the school until 1943.
sede anni settanta Because of the war, the school was deprived of a permanent seat and had to move to a former private villa, Villa Conte Ceschi, in via V.Veneto . A branch was also necessary as class groups were by then 22 with 658 pupils .The Liceo had soon new branches in smaller towns of the district, in Cles, Borgo and Cavales as the students were then 1200, until , in 1975, the school split into two and Liceo "Da Vinci" was opened.
sede attuale Sept.1st 1998 was the starting point of a new chapter in the history of our school. After many years, a few branches in town and around, got together to form a single school again in the former seat at Dame di Sion, now beautifully restored and refurbished. A new wing has been added to complete the original project and the whole building has undergone a thorough work of renewal and adjustment, to become a modern and functional school.
